Q: What is GreenZap?
GreenZap is a global online payment service that allows you to send and receive money quickly and securely. You never need to expose your personal bank information to unknown merchants online. GreenZap can be used to send money to a friend electronically or for merchant services.

Q: How Does GreenZap Work?

GreenZap is a fun, simple, low-cost way for people to send, spend, and receive money online. It is a payment portal for facilitating transactions between individuals and businesses worldwide.

Opening a GreenZap account is easy:

  • Go to www.greenzap.com.
  • Click the ‘Open Account’ link.
  • Enter your personal information, select a Zap ID, and enter your email address.
  • You will receive a confirmation email to the address you registered.
  • Click on the link provided in the email and enter your password.
  • Your account is officially registered.
Once your GreenZap account is registered, we recommend that you get your ID and bank account verified. By completing these two steps, your GreenZap account becomes fully operational.

Feel free to add, withdraw, or send funds to anyone with an email address. Here’s an example of how GreenZap can work for you:

Sending money to someone using GreenZap:

Scott opens a GreenZap account. Once he gets his bank account and ID verified he immediately adds $50 cash to his account. Scott’s best friend from college, Chris, lives in London. Its Chris’s birthday on Saturday, so Scott decides to zap his good friend $50. Chris receives an email letting him know that Scott has sent him money via GreenZap. Chris opens a GreenZap account and sees his $50, plus an additional $25 WebCash just for opening the account. Chris thinks this is a pretty cool deal, and requests to withdraw the $50 by check. Chris goes to his mailbox a week or so later and finds a letter from GreenZap containing his $50 check. He emails his friend Scott and thanks him for the gift!

Q: What services does GreenZap offer?
GreenZap has positioned itself to be your online spending and sending payment provider. Services include:
    Send Money:
    GreenZap members can send money to anyone with an email address. Those receiving money through GreenZap who aren’t GreenZap members, can easily open a free account to receive their money.
    Spend Money:
    Once you open a GreenZap account, feel free to start spending! You can add money and send it to anyone with an email address. You can even purchase goods and services from GreenZap’s classified site, ZapExchange.
    Receive Money:
    Members can receive money directly into their GreenZap account from other GreenZap members. Additionally, members can send "money requests" to others using their GreenZap account.

Q: How is my money protected?
GreenZap, Inc., as your agent, will place your funds in a pooled account at an FDIC-insured bank or savings institution, which is eligible for pass-through FDIC insurance coverage.

In the unlikely event that an FDIC-insured bank in which we place your money fails, your balance placed at the bank would be subject to FDIC pass-through deposit insurance coverage, up to a total of $100,000.00 USD. Pass-through insurance coverage is contingent upon GreenZap maintaining accurate records and on determinations of the FDIC as receiver at the time of a future receivership of any bank at which we place your funds. FDIC pass-through insurance protects you only against the failure of the bank at which GreenZap places your funds, and does not protect you against GreenZap's insolvency. Through the terms of our User Agreement, we believe that your funds will also be protected from any claims of GreenZap's creditors and will be returned to you even in the unlikely event of a GreenZap insolvency.

Q: What is a ZapID?
With GreenZap, you have the opportunity to create a unique ZapID to send out to your friends and family. Your ZapID is used to link anyone you tell about GreenZap back to you. It can be your name, a nickname, your dog or cat’s name, your child’s name, or whatever you wish! Just make it unique to you and easy for your friends and family to remember.

Q: What if I forget my login or password?
Your login name/ID is the email address you used when registering your GreenZap account. To retrieve your password, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link and it will be sent to the email address you used upon registration.

Q: How can I update or change my personal account information?
Simply log into your account and click on the "My Account" tab and then choose "Profile". Make the desired changes to your personal profile and then click "Submit". You will receive an email verifying the changes made to your account.

For security purposes you are not allowed to change your email address. If you need to change your email address please send this request to our Customer Care department at customercare@gzsupport.com.

Q: How much does it cost to open a GreenZap account?
A Green account is FREE and costs you absolutely nothing. Zero! In fact, once you open an account, you will be rewarded with an automatic $25 WebCash deposit just for signing up. So, let the zapping begin!

Q: What account type is right for me?
GreenZap offers two different account types, Green and Gold. Check out both accounts below to see which one is best for you.
    Green Account:
    The Green account is FREE to open. As a GreenZap Green account holder you enjoy competitive transaction fees for sending and receiving money. This account type is perfect for someone who primarily sends funds, or purchases items from online merchants.

    Gold Account:
    The Gold account costs $100 to open. With a Gold account, your transaction fees are significantly less compared to a Green account and you receive double discounts in the GreenZap Storez. It also allows you the opportunity to become a GreenZap merchant. The Gold account holder is typically a merchant or someone who does a high volume of transactions.
GreenZap gives you the opportunity to choose what account type suits you best.

Q: In what countries is GreenZap available as a method of payment?
GreenZap allows you to send funds internationally in many countries all over the world. However, users in the following countries are prohibited from opening a GreenZap account: Nigeria, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, North Korea, South Korea, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Singapore, and Nicaragua. The non-approved countries list may change without notice. See our User Agreement for the most up-to-date information.

WebCash

Q: What is WebCash?
WebCash is GreenZap's rewards dollar. You can use your WebCash to purchase items on GreenZap's classified site, ZapExchange. WebCash can also be used to purchase rebates for products/services offered by our preferred merchants listed in GreenZap Storez. WebCash is not cash. It cannot be withdrawn, bought, or sold. The difference between Cash, as in real money, and GreenZap’s WebCash is that WebCash can only be used, as the name says, on the Web.

Q: Why didn’t I receive my $25 WebCash upon signing up?
If you were referred to GreenZap by another member, ask them for their ZapID. Select the ‘Profile’ section, enter their ZapID and instantly receive your $25 WebCash. If you do not know someone with a ZapID, you can enter the word ‘Green’ and join the GreenZap community.

Q: How can I view a detailed report of my transactions?
Simply log into your account and click on the "My Account" tab to see your detailed transaction report. Click the ‘History’ tab to search for transactions in a specific time parameter.

Add Money

Q: What funding options can I use to deposit money into my GreenZap account?
GreenZap currently offers the following methods to add money to your GreenZap account:
  • U.S. Electronic Bank Transfer (via ACH), with a verified US bank account.
  • Mail-In Check: We can only accept verifiable Bank Checks, Money Orders and/or Cashier’s Checks made payable to GreenZap, Inc. For security purposes, all payments will be verified at the issuer’s financial institution prior to deposit. For more information regarding our security measures and fraud prevention, please read our User Agreement.

Q: How long will it take for funds to post to my ‘Available Cash’ balance?
  • GreenZap member-to-member or member-to-non-member (membership required) is available instantly.
  • Money added via US bank account (i.e., online check) will be available within 7 business days once funds have been verified.
  • Money added by mailing in a check, money order or cashier’s check will be available within 7 to 15 business days once funds have been verified.

Q: Are there fees for adding funds to my account?
GreenZap Green account holders are charged $2 to add funds. Gold account holders add funds for FREE.

Q: Will I see a difference between deposited (cash) funds and WebCash?
Yes. You will see your deposited Cash balance and your WebCash balance by logging into your GreenZap account and reviewing your Account Overview.

Q: Can I cancel a request to add funds?
If you requested to add funds by mail-in check and would like to cancel, click the red ‘X’ next to the transaction in your Account Overview.

If you requested to add funds via bank transfer and want to cancel the request, you must email Customer Care, customercare@gzsupport.com. The status of the transaction will be researched for possible cancellation. Because bank transfers happen on a daily basis we may not be able to cancel your request.

If the transaction has been processed you must wait for the funds to post to your ‘Available Cash’ balance. At that time you can request to ‘Withdraw’ them back into your bank account.

Send Money

Q: How do I send money using GreenZap?
Sending or ‘Zapping’ money using GreenZap is easy and secure.
    Member to Member
    Once you are a GreenZap member, you can log into your GreenZap account and send money to another GreenZap member by clicking on the "Send" tab. Once the transaction is processed, both parties will receive a confirmation email for proof of payment.

    Member to Non-Member
    GreenZap members can send money to non-GreenZap members. The non-GreenZap member will receive an email informing them that they have received money through GreenZap and that they must complete the FREE registration process to claim their funds. If the non-member fails to open a GreenZap account within 30 days, the money will be returned to the members ‘Available Cash’ balance.

Q: How do I receive money?
Members can receive money directly into their GreenZap account from other GreenZap members. Additionally, members can send "money requests" to others using their GreenZap account.

Withdraw Money:

Q: How can I withdraw money?
GreenZap account holders can request to withdraw funds from their ‘Available Cash’ balance by requesting a check or US bank transfer. If you do not have a US bank account, you may request a physical check to be mailed to the address you have listed in your GreenZap profile.

You will receive an automatic email acknowledgement every time you request to withdraw available cash from your account.

Verification Process:

Q: Why should I add my bank account to GreenZap?
Your bank account is an easy way for you to add and withdraw funds from your GreenZap account. All bank transfers are done using Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT). This means that GreenZap debits the funds directly from your confirmed bank account and deposits it into your GreenZap account. This funding method is fast, simple, and convenient.

Q: How do I add my bank account to my GreenZap account?
The safety and security of your bank account is a top priority for GreenZap. Linking your bank account to your GreenZap account is easy and safe. Please note that at this time we only allow US bank accounts to be added.

To add your bank account:
  • Log into your GreenZap account.
  • Click the ‘Add Bank Account’ link found on the left-hand side of the web page.
  • Follow the prompts and enter your banking information then click ‘Next’.
Once this is complete, GreenZap will deposit a small amount of money into your bank account. Check your bank statement in a few days to find the deposit. Once you have the deposited amount, you’ll want to login to your GreenZap account, click the link that says, ‘Confirm Your Bank Account’ and enter the correct amount.

Q: How does GreenZap ‘Verify’ my bank account?
GreenZap ‘Verifies’ your bank account by making one small deposit to the account you registered. Once you have received the deposit to your bank account, you must return your GreenZap account and enter in the correct amount to complete the Verification process.

The purpose of verifying your bank account is to ensure that you provided our system with the correct banking information, and to confirm that it is truly you who is accessing the account. You will not be charged a fee and will not see it as part of your transaction history.

Q. How do I ‘Verify’ my ID?
GreenZap encourages every member to verify their identity. This is a security procedure put in place to protect you from sending and receiving fraudulent funds via GreenZap. You should insist that everyone you encounter, via GreenZap, verify their identity.

It takes just a few minutes, simply follow these instructions:
  • Log into your GreenZap account.
  • Click the ‘Verify your ID’ link found on the left-hand side of the web page.
  • Enter the requested information. Click ‘Next’.
  • By entering the correct information about yourself you will instantly ‘Verify’ your ID.
Please note international members will be asked to fax or mail in a separate document.

Q: What is GreenZap Storez?
GreenZap Storez consists of over 500 preferred merchants that offer you exclusive discounts and deals via GreenZap. It’s easy to shop at GZ Storez because we provide fantastic, user-friendly avenues such as our ‘WebCash for Cash’ section; ‘Top Deals’ where you’ll find such noted companies as Vonage and Brookstone; or you can find desirable deals in our ‘Merchant’ section. Be sure to keep an eye out for new merchants and amazing discounts as we update the site on a consistent basis. And don’t forget, Gold account holders receive double discounts when they shop at GZ Storez!

Q: What is WebCash for Cash?
You can exchange your available WebCash for Cash when you purchase a product or service in GreenZap Storez. Here’s how it works:
When you complete a purchase from one of our preferred merchants, GreenZap receives compensation from that merchant in the form of a rebate. GreenZap wants to thank you for your purchase and return any rebate we receive back to you in the form of real cash. There are hundreds of preferred merchants in GreenZap’s Storez offering thousands of name-brand products and services at an exclusive discount for GreenZap users.

Q: How do I exchange my WebCash for Cash?
Exchanging your WebCash for Cash is easy! First, decide what item or service you’d like to purchase. You can do this by searching the GZ Storez merchants by name, product type, or WebCash exchange deals. Once you’ve decided, simply follow these instructions:
  • Click the ‘Create Cash Back’ tab next to the item you have chosen and enter the amount of WebCash you would like to exchange, then click ‘Next’.
  • A diagram will appear displaying the exchange ratio of WebCash for Cash. If you’d like, you can go back and change the amount of WebCash entered.
  • Agree to the merchant terms and begin shopping.
  • Shop the merchant’s site through the link GreenZap provided, and make your purchase. Please note, you will be paying the merchant directly using their check-out shopping cart, but your transaction will be flagged by GreenZap for issuance of the cash-back rebate.
  • When you complete the purchase, log back into your GreenZap account to review your ‘Account Overview’. This transaction will be listed, and the status will show as ‘Completed’.
  • Once GreenZap receives the rebate from the merchant it will be posted to your GreenZap account as available ‘Cash’ and you will be able to withdraw the funds.

Q: How long will it take to receive my Cash?
It’s hard for us to give you an exact time period because every merchant is different. Please allow up to 8 weeks for the cash to post to your account. When the ‘WebCash for Cash’ transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email.

Q: Do I qualify to be a merchant?
Are you a Gold account holder with a website? Great!

In order to qualify, you must be a Gold account holder and have both your identity and US bank account verified by GreenZap. We require all our merchants to have a Website so we can review your business for content and legitimacy. At this time only US residents can become merchants.

Q: How do I become a GreenZap merchant?
Setting up your GreenZap merchant account is simple.
  • Log into your account and click on the ‘Merchant Tools’ tab.
  • Review all the benefits of becoming a Merchant. Click ‘Next’.
  • Complete the Merchant Application. Click ‘Submit’.
Your application will show as ‘pending’ while it is being reviewed by a Merchant Account representative for approval. You will be contacted via email or by phone within 5-7 business days with a decision.

Only GreenZap Gold account holders can apply to become a merchant. The Gold account costs $100 and is a one-time fee.

Q: What are the merchant processing fees?
GreenZap merchants receive competitive transactions fees. Reference the fee chart below.


* Gold members (who have paid the $100.00 Gold member fee and who have been approved as a merchant) when using GreenZap's "Buy Now" button (API) on their website, have the ability to select the percentage of the transaction fee that is covered by the buyer, up to the entire amount, effectively reducing the cost per transaction to zero dollars for the seller. You will be able to establish your transaction fee parameters during the set-up of your "Buy Now" button(s).

Q: My application was approved. How do I start accepting GreenZap as payment from my website?
Congratulations on becoming a GreenZap merchant! It is time to build your ‘Buy Now’ button. Follow these instructions:
  • Log into your account and click the ‘Merchant Tools’ tab.
  • Click ‘build a button’.
  • Follow the steps to build the HTML code.
  • Cut and paste the code to your website. The button is now in place and ready for use.

Q: How do I track my orders processed through GreenZap?
We have created specialized merchant reports that allow you to track your order(s), number of hits, and average price of purchase. Every button you build comes with a tracking report that allows you to review the order(s) from that particular button.

These can be found by clicking the ‘Merchant Tools’ tab, and then the ‘Reports’ link. Here you will find all the buttons you have built. Click on any of the underlined text to display detailed information about your transactions.
